Business management of livestock systems

Dear agri-readers, in recent years, business management has had to evolve in accordance with the requirements of a highly competitive environment, a situation that contrasts with enterprises destined for livestock production, which constantly suffer, a set of transformations in the search to obtain the greatest possible production, in order to maintain and increase their participation in the market, basing production strategies on conventional technology systems, without measuring the consequences of social and environmental contexts.

In the livestock sector, management should be analysed as a systematic, orderly and integrated process in different tasks, with the aim of ensuring that livestock producers have sufficient tools to set clear objectives and goals, and can achieve them, through the proper use of economic and environmental resources, only that the situation that humanity is going through is an element to consider for the development of a modern management with a high level of sustainability.

It is therefore necessary to address the business objectives designed by the managers of livestock companies, and to include objectives that take into account social, economic and environmental aspects, as the axis for the development of production systems without compromising the available resources, in the search for greater integration and coordination of specific actions to restore the balance between productive and administrative factors.

It is also important to mention that this type of agricultural business is generated under scenarios of great vulnerability, since the source from which resources are obtained is mainly from a natural ecosystem, in which biotic factors are managed, whose characteristics and functions are sensitive to degradation and depletion and it is therefore necessary to establish appropriate parameters to achieve the sustainability of the system.

In this connection, as time has passed, agricultural enterprises have developed in the interest of feeding the population, through obtaining the various items that can be produced, however, the results obtained have not been sufficient, Therefore, business management should be analyzed as a starting point to achieve systems of livestock production in which existing resources are not exhausted and can meet the demands of society.

That is why, based on these premises, future publications will address aspects of administrative processes in agricultural enterprises, with the objective of demonstrating that the synergy between the administrative and productive is important to achieve the sustainability of agroecosystems, since it will work in a more organized and balanced way in terms of the management of natural and economic resources.
