Trying To Make Friends

As I said in my previous post, one of the reasons I do Taekwondo is to make some friends. I'm kind of struggling, which is strange because I usually make friends easily.

I figured out my problem! I’m just not confident when I speak Thai. It's hard to make friends with someone who speaks a language you haven't mastered yet. I speak enough Thai to be able to translate things for my dad and I can understand around 85% of what people are saying but actually speaking is a challenge for me. Maybe I should just go for it. Who cares if I make a little mistake? Life is all about mistakes. I find it much easier to talk with English-speaking adults than with Thai kids...how pathetic is that?

Nothing pathetic in that , life is SO about mistakes but hurt really changes us .
At least then we chose better with our guts .
I was supposed to go live in Thailand but plan failed , i feel sad about it but then i wouldnt be close to my mum .
One day i will be there .

Perhaps you also now have more in common, culturally, with English-speaking people - even English-speaking Thais.
mmm... interesting...

Like the first time you went to a swimming pool the hardest part is the first jump, after, when you're inside it's easier ;)

Don't worry about mistakes, I can't count how many Thai I saw who took little time to understand each other because of mistakes or misunderstandings during their conversation Hahaha.

I'm sure if you try with someone Thai, she/he will be happy and she/he will forgive your mistake easily and she/he will explain to you your mistake too, a good way to a better learning of Thai language.

That is a deeply weird phenomenon that I have only seen here - two Thais seemingly agreeing on something, yet, when asked, they seem to have agreed on different things!! What kinda language allows that to happen!? It's a fairly new language, based on nothing much apart from one king's ego. It's also a very simple language, with only 3 tenses.

Now that you make me think about it I realize that for the moment I have only seen this kind of situation in Thailand
