The power of our minds is immense. Our life can be entirely controlled by fear if we allow it to take control of our thoughts. However, most of our fears are unfounded. The repercussions of what we dread are frequently not as terrible as we think, and it is frequently overblown or unrealistic even when it isn't. Should we fail to take these steps, fear may immobilize us and force us to lead a life of caution.
Our fear can be used to our benefit if we can teach our thoughts to do so. Choose the one that might be stifling your creativity from the list of anxieties that are explained below. You can find strategies to overcome these anxieties here:
HOW TO DEAL WITH FEAR.
Does fear stifle your imagination? There's something so universal about fear. . You're not by yourself! Everybody is afraid of something. There are a few main anxieties that we frequently encounter when it comes to creativity.
Which of these pictures of you do you recognise?
1 . A fear of losing control. We enter the unknown when we are creative. This fear could be preventing you from being creative if you are results-driven and prefer to complete tasks quickly. You hate wasting time on unimportant things and like to be in charge. The thought of solving an issue with creativity is probably going to irritate you. Those who are creative tend to irritate you and make you want to go right into putting the best answer you've already thought of into practice.
But if we don't take our time and look into other options, we probably won't find a solution that stands out. Great works of art frequently take their designers by surprise and are the result of a convoluted and branched process. This relinquishment of power entails a vulnerability that may cause unease. Not every solution is available to you here. Nobody is more of an expert in the space than you are. To maintain your authority and save face, you might wish to temper your creative thinking. The paradox is that by putting on a "beginners mindset," or a curious attitude, and letting go of control, we are able to achieve new things and gain power.
2 . A fear of not succeeding .
You can either run away from fear and forget everything, or you may face it head-on and overcome it. You have the option. Even though everyone fears failure to some extent, there are those who find it unbearable to consider making mistakes, being incorrect, or having their business collapse. Your fear of failing could stifle your creativity if you're a cautious, analytical person. You find it repulsive that creative thinking might look illogical, and you find it hard to understand that there isn't just one right answer.
It makes sense that we would be terrified of failing when there are so many others around us who are critical of it. Though it sounds terrific coming from a now wildly successful entrepreneur, the concept of "failing fast" is actually quite difficult to implement in practice. People are wherever we look.
3 . The inability to start out.
I adore learning new things. I adore education. My favorite aspects of creating new learning programs are the research, ideation, and brainstorming that go into creating a strong and useful learning intervention. But eventually, all of that different thinking has to come together, and I have to make the initial move. My mind frequently wanders so much that it overwhelms me and takes me in the wrong direction. I risk squandering time and going down the proverbial rabbit hole. I occasionally have a tendency to stray so far from my original goal that I become lost.
To be creative, one must create. To build something, we must transcend thinking. The bias of true creativity is toward action. But analysis paralysis can prevent us from engaging in creative endeavors. Anything worthwhile usually has its hardest aspect when it comes to getting started. I experienced a great deal of worry when I helped establish Creativity Wake-Up.
4 . The fear of coming across as foolish. This is something you can accomplish. It's not practice runs for this life. Fears should not be avoided. Embrace your fears head-on. Should you be reading this post to the finish, you are undoubtedly grappling with a creative endeavor. Resist the urge to follow your fears. Shed them by bringing them into the open, allowing your inner creativity to emerge.
