You might act in ways that are intended to either mask or make up for your fear of rejection.

Absence of Authenticity:
A lot of people who fear rejection adopt a life that is well planned and observed. Living behind a mask might be a result of fearing rejection if you reveal your actual self to the world. In addition to making you appear fake and unauthentic to others, this might make you adamantly refuse to accept life's obstacles.

People-Pleasing:
People who fear rejection frequently go too far, despite the fact that it is normal to desire to look after those we love. Even if answering yes results in significant problems or hassles in your personal life, you may find it difficult to say no. You run a higher risk of burnout if you are a people-pleaser because you might take on too much. At its worst, people-pleasing can occasionally result in supporting others' negative actions.

Passivity:
People who are afraid of being rejected frequently make a special effort to stay out of conflicts. You might not speak out for what you need or ask for what you want. It's easy to try to ignore your own wants or act as though they don't exist. You might not realize your full potential because of your fear of rejection. Anyone finds it scary to put yourself out there, but if rejection is a worry you have, you could feel immobilized. Even if you're unhappy with your current circumstances, it feels safe to hold onto the status quo.

Aggressive Passiveness:
People who fear rejection often behave in passive-aggressive ways because they are uncomfortable displaying their genuine selves yet are unable to completely ignore their own wants. When you embark on projects, you may put them off, "forget" to fulfill commitments, whine, and work inefficiently. You may resort to people-pleasing, apathy, and passive-aggressiveness out of a fear of rejection. It can also cause you to lose your authenticity and find it hard to be who you are around other people.
