The last 2 days have been crazy, but today I feel a little better. I came to Mumbai on Thursday and I was getting settled at home, then Friday morning I receive a call from my niece who lives in another city Ahmedabad which is at a distance of 500 kms, she informed me that my sister was very unwell. She was diagnosed with a bacterial infection called Sepsis. The infection was spreading all throughout in the body, it had infected her kidneys, lungs and liver. Her pressure had dropped down drastically and in no time her condition was critical. It was a very scary news.
My sister is a single mother with 2 daughters. I immediately decided to travel to her because the doctor did not give very good signs for her. We all went into panic mode not knowing what exactly to do besides praying.
I received the news in afternoon and immediately booked a train ticket, as that was the quickest way to reach, the flights are unpredictable due to the weather so did not want to take the chance. I reached the hospital by 10 p.m and I was feeling very sad and depressed looking at her in such a condition. She is in ICU, but the nurse was kind and she allowed me to meet her.
Good I came down, because both my niece were alone and they are young girls of 18 and 21, its difficult for them to understand all of this. Since then I am here at the hospital only. From last night my sister has been showing improvement and seems like she's on recovery mode now.
With God's grace today morning has been good, she's much better and she's completely out of danger, now talking also and has started taking soft meals.
Infection levels have come down drastically so all of this is good news.
Tomorrow will shift her out of ICU and then we will be completely relieved.
She has had a very hard life, being a single mother managing everything by herself, its never been easy for her, lately her stress level has also been very high due to some job insecurities. I keep telling her to go easy, we are all there to support her but she does not listen.
As of now I am so relieved that she's on recovery mode and out of danger.
I'm glad to hear your sister is recovering from her illness. She's lucky to have solid family support.
Thank you. Its a long recovery for her, but the good news is that she's stable and out of the ICU
Hi @nainaztengra
It is great that your beloved sister had fought off the sepsis considering that it is a really bad medical condition and yet the care of the hospital made her got out danger.
Now she needs care and proper nutrition to boost her immune system and give her more resistance to infections. Hoping for her speedy recovery until she is up and running again.♥
Thank you for your kind wishes. She needs loads of care
