The meta stock price is falling since early 2022, and it's falling and falling... today the price even lower than 5 years ago.
A few reasons IMHO:
- there isn't much increase in the number of users that use Facebook. Younger generations tend to use snapchat.
- the Tiktok is eating much of the market - the short videos are killing user's time. People like to watch short videos rather than browsing text/images.
- Meta's main income comes from adversements. Facebook's targeting ads are affected (weakened) by iOS's updates.
- Meta's business is toC - they don't want to enter the toB like Google, or Microsoft.
among all of this, I think the main reason is: Tiktok is a new big player, and it eats much of the cake (advertisement)
