I have a confession: I'm addicted to Facebook
I don't like Facebook, but I can't seem to stop logging into Facebook.
They say the first step is confession. If you follow my blog on HIVE and other blockchains, you know I post and comment regularly. But I haven't convinced my core group to make the move over to the blockchain - at this point I doubt they ever will.
So when I have a thought, I post it on FB. Then I compile them and put them on the chain.
The most annoying and irritating thing FB is doing is repeating their "fact check" information under certain posts - especially reminding us how fair and accurate the election results are. Pffft.
So I wanted to make the point: It's a long-time tyranical tradition to repeat lies over and over until they become accepted as "truth". There is no worse thing to me than a falsehood becoming recognized as if it is a "truth".
I responded to a post calling FB out and I insterted a comment: the above photo. I can post this with no fear of retribution (worse case scenario I get some downvotes... oooh)
This crowd is smart enough to know that the sentiment is true: people believe things that are repeated over and over and over, especially if they are repeated by people they care about. Innocently enough, people will vomit out "facts" that lead to an "obvious" conclusion, overlooking any real investigation. After all, leave that to the EXPERTS.
This is not the time for outsourcing your opinions - do your homework, know why you believe what you believe, be willing to re-investigate as new information becomes available, most of all: test everything and hold fast to what is true.
It's Time to DE-FACEBOOK Myself
Psalm one says "walk not in the council of the ungodly", and inversely, "walk in the council of the Godly". I know a Godly man @papa-pepper, who is on Steemit and HIVE. He gave me (and you if you're listening) wise council. He said:

The clock is running out for the free-posting Facebook, especially as the censorship increases. Why should I continue giving them free stuff, just because of my dopamine addiction?

Why January 6th? It's the first evening of a 21 day fast that ends on the evening of January 27th. What better time to "rip the bandaid off" to break my FB addition.
