My Thursday Experience

It must be true that you must take something that is not yours in order to be a thief. Does it matter if you steal something without realizing it and call it your own? At what point in time does someone qualify as a thief?

I recently went to the shop to purchase insect killer. For whatever reason, the store owner stacks the insect killer in a small, private area in the back of the store. This area is roughly forty square meters in size, but in the center of it are varieties of it.
It took me a while to look through the sixty or so various brands of it to identify the one I normally use. A shopping trolley could hardly fit in the small amount of room available for walking.

To avoid struggling with it more when I remove items from shelves, I typically place my handbag inside the cart. Guess where the one I was finally looking for was stacked?

Yes, your guess was correct! I found it far, way, way in the farthest corner of the small, private area.

I looked around the room again before making my way inside. I devised a swift escape plan that would enable me to leave with ease.

Stepping in where it was with the trolley was kinda difficult. So i turned right, continued straight ahead, picked up the insect killer, placed it in the trolley, and then turned right once more to reach the corner before turning right one more to return to my starting point.

Something on the floor caught my attention as I was going to pick up what I came for. It was a tiny ball, red and black, and it had no business being there. Being the kind samaritan that I am, I picked up the ball and placed it in my trolley, Hoping to place it back where it belonged before picking what I came for.

I was finally leaving the little, isolated location after running into practically everything there. I went directly to the counter to make my payment.

When I reached home, I took my purse out of its packing. What did I discover in my purse?

Yes, you're correct once more. The ball I picked up and placed back in the toy area! I have no idea how it got there.

The shop had already closed, so it was too late to return it back. Besides, how would it appear if I should return the ball back to the shop now and told them what had happened? Will they accept my word or not?

I think I'm on a path where two roads meet. I have two options now: either I retain the ball and accept my guilt, or I return it and tell the store owner that I mistakenly took his ball.

I would have accepted it if it had been a first-time occurrence something similar had taken place, but it wasn't the case. My mom and I went shopping, and when we returned home after what seemed like hours, I had something under my arm. I still possess the thing as of right now.

Maybe this isn't such a coincidence after all.

Enjoy my weekend vibes with Dido
