not a theist not at heist

the key point you seem to be missing is,

"atheists" do not have a king

"atheists" are independent thinkers

"atheists" do not follow dogma or sacred texts

you keep referencing famous writers

nobody gives a single shit who wrote what and who called themselves an "atheist" or not

"atheists" are not "united" any more than "nonsmokers" are "united"

"atheists" are not "united" any more than "non-stamp-collectors" are "united"

the "apolitical" example illustrates this best

"apolitical" does not mean "anti-political" and does not mean someone "hates politics"

they simply don't give a shit about politics

also, you both missed the point that a DEIST is technically an ATHEIST (not a theist)

DEISM IS FUNCTIONALLY INDISTINGUISHABLE FROM ATHEISM

you can't make any assumptions about why someone chooses to identify as a "non-smoker" and you furthermore can't make any assumptions about what other beliefs this person ("non-smoker") might subscribe to

you can't make any assumptions about why someone chooses to identify as an "atheist" and you furthermore can't make any assumptions about what other beliefs this person ("atheist") might subscribe to

people are free to call themselves whatever they wish - - for whatever reasons (or non-reasons) they wish

I rather don't think about religion... Haha! Was raised without it, We only discussed it (rarely) in terms of "these People believe this, those People believe that."

So am I an "atheist" if I just don't think about it?

you could qualify if you choose to identify as such

it's really a matter of self-ownership

we need to stop trying to tell everyone what they are, and instead, listen to them

I just identify as non-religious. Haha! And I would never tell anOther what They are. That is Theirs to define.

People have called me sigma and I respond with, you watch too much youtube. But then again I have no clue what that means or how they draw those conclusions or based what evidence makes someone alpha, beta or sigma to a good understanding.

I don't know.

Me atheiest... I don't know. I have felt a bond with the whole universe and felt like I was in the presence of a master genius, inventor and creator. Then when I researched into gnostics, I find that the creator was "the devil"(demiurgus) all along and not god.

So, after my many years of suffering and understanding that, my personal reaearch, and reflections, i have this feeling we have been living, are living, in some purgatory world. No more than a simple illusion but a very convincing one.

that sounds about right

the mythology of gnosticism is not dogma

it is explicitly metaphorical
