it would be, by definition, impossible to detect the "cause" of something that is truly "un-caused" and it follows by pure logic that no human could make such a thing "happen"

this indisputably destroys the concept of human-free-will

And this comment indisputably destroys the concept of self sovereignty, and having as spine, while advocating nihilism and sniveling, pathetic cuckoldry, as route to having a good life.

If you can't isolate original cause (impossible), you can't prove original cause - but you can pretend to, if your desire is to make yourself feel more intelligent (while at the same time, doing the diametric opposite).

Don't be an idiot, we have far too many of those, already...

face reality or indulge in your comfortable delusion

the natural conclusion is that you are exactly as "free" as anyone has ever been

each and every human is bound to instinctive immutable laws

(1) PROTECT YOURSELF

(2) PROTECT YOUR FAMILY

(3) PROTECT YOUR PROPERTY

if this doesn't qualify as "individual sovereignty" then i don't know what does

Don't be a Logic Zombie!!!!

A logic zombie is someone who blindly follows logic no matter how ridiculous the conclusions may be.

For example, you can't just blindly follow logic into idiotic beliefs like determinism and solipsism. These are obviously intellectual black holes with no utilitarian value whatsoever.

A logic zombie is just a person who can't face reality and who won't be honest with themselves.

A logic zombie is someone who never takes personal responsibility for their actions and instead blames logic for their moronic and misguided attacks on well established and incontrovertible truth.

You can't depend on logic for everything. People know deep down what is right and what is wrong. You know the truth. You just need the courage to face the facts.

Ephedra — Today at 9:48 AM

Is this your arg?

P1. It is impossible to detect something's cause if and only if something is not caused
P2. If something is not caused, then it is impossible for a human to have caused it
P3. Something is not caused
C. Therefore, it is impossible for a human to have caused it

LOGICZOMBIE — Today at 10:01 AM

basically, if your will is caused, then it is not entirely "yours" - - and - - any aspect of your will that might be considered "un-caused" (breaking the causal chain) is ALSO not "yours" - - therefore, the concept of human-free-will is logically incoherent

Imaniki — Today at 11:59 AM

how do you know something is true

LOGICZOMBIE — Today at 12:01 PM

a TAUTOLOGICAL statement is true by definition - - for example - - an event that is un-caused - - cannot be initiated by a human (or anything else for that matter)

Imaniki — Today at 12:02 PM

yes but even if that event is caused outside human intervention

LOGICZOMBIE — Today at 12:04 PM

do you agree that all possible events fall into two, and only two categories - - CAUSED events (OR) UN-CAUSED events - - do you agree with this TAUTOLOGICAL statement ?

here's the thing, even a GOD cannot create an "uncaused" event

a GOD must either act by motivation (caused by existing or pre-existing conditions) (OR) without motivation (which would make the action essentially RANDOM and therefore not exactly an "act of will")
