Microsoft recently invested into OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT. This is in addition to their 2019 investment into OpenAI, and they are already speaking about the integration of AI chatbots into their product functionality. For those unaware, ChatGPT is an advanced AI not that can write content and answer questions based upon a prompt from a user. The AI chatbot uses the internet to construct answers and can even write full papers and can code. It's shaking up the business world and academia as well.
In 2019, Microsoft invested $1 billion into OpenAI, and further investment has been made as ChatGPT has taken off.
OpenAI’s technologies will be integrated into Microsoft products. The ability to ask questions and generate content using the ChatGPT protocol. Other businesses can and will benefit from the AI chatbot model. Imagine the savings companies can realize from automation in customer service and help desk operations. Imagine what AI bots can do for copywriting and creative industries. The bots can already write code for computers, and will likely increase their acquity over time. It's a huge opportunity and a great way for a business to grow organically or through acquisition and investment as Microsoft has done.
The future of many customer service jobs will likely be impacted by chatGPT and similar AI bot programs. Web 3.0 may be impacted by AI bots as well, as proof of brain style protocols are utilized by bots. Academic institutions are already banning chatGPT output, and many people are reacting to the new paradigm.
