My city is famous of its stone and that is the reason we have so many cement factories. I think by now we have 8-10 big cement factories.
And there's a whole town that has nothing but stone quarries. I had the opportunity to work at such a place for a week and I took a few pict.
This is the picture of an abandoned quarry. You can see the calcium has started to discolor and wild trees growing all around it.
There are thousands of such places that now act as rainwater storage. I don't know if the water ever reaches the underground water table but it does help the factories to get some water for their production.
But I often think about what will our future generation use when we end up emptying all the natural resources?
Will they have any stones or trees or any animals? I have been working towards a sustainable form of development since early 2011 and things are always going bad for nature.
I know one fact that nature will always evolve and build something new again but the question remains will humans go extinct or will we survive?
smart enough to make weapons
dumb enough to use them
True. And stupid enough not to think of ways to clean all the mess we humans made.
I think "we" = polluting corporate scum (mainly)
altho individuals can have the same attitudes
looks like limestone - maybe you can just take some for your soil, if needed.
Yes, limestone. We got a lot of limestone all around. Lol
