Finished watching the "Crown" Series

in entertainment •  2 years ago

I am not a fan of watching series. I refrain from doing that as I feel it is a lot of waste of time and a few that I watched in the recent past were all full of foul language and violence, not only that it looks like some of them are soft porn, and it just does not give a good feeling to me. I prefer watching light hearted comedy movies. I enjoy that. A friend of mine suggested that I should watch the "Crown" series. I thought, let me have some glimpse of it and started watching it. I like to learn about these things, history of the monarch reigns of the past. Just in 2 episodes I was completely intrigued in it. The story was growing on me gradually.

In a period of around 3 weeks yesterday I finished watching all the episodes of all the 4 seasons and I will like to share some reflections of my own on this story. First of all, rich or poor everyone goes through their own challenges in life, and that's what we see the real-life challenges of the Royal family and the Late Queen. The family is always smiling on the outside but within them there are so many cracks and never seemed like that even one person in that family is completely happy and satisfied with their life. Charles who very well knew that he would be a King for sure one day still felt so insecure with Diana. That's how ego and insecurity also destroy relationships.

The whole family is chained up with rules and laws of their own and live such a superficial life. No one is happy and contended. No one can do what their heart desires. They are all governed by the Crown. I felt very sorry for the Royal family. To think of it the most influential family of the world, but internally all broken and shattered. No compassion for each other. Example of also what power can do to you. That's why it's also very rightly said that money can buy all the comforts and luxuries but it cannot buy happiness.

The Late Queen was chained up with so many limitations of the Crown. She could not express her Love and feelings openly for her Children and her family. She had to always put up a smiling face for others whereas internally she was bleeding with her broken family. The other character that I like the most in this whole series is of Late Margaret Thatcher. I did not know much of her but now have a fair understanding of her character. She was a real woman of power; she spoke her mind very clearly even though if it was to the Crown.

There are many lessons to learn from this whole series. We always desire that wish we had such a Royal life, but when we see the scenes behind the curtains then we would never want to have such a life. I am so eagerly looking forward to the next seasons. There is season 5 getting released in November. I am sure it's going to be very interesting.
