Yesterday, the first episode of "The Mandalorian" appeared, and since we watch TLoU every week, and last week we started "Tulsa King" on SkyShowTime, which recently appeared in Poland, I have a few things to say. It is true that each of these series will get its own text, but there are things that I want to write about now.

Actually, I lied a bit - I only watch this show because Asia doesn't like SW and watches it with one eye. As for me, although I don't like SW anymore (which doesn't mean that I won't watch them - I just won't be involved in the universe anymore), I can follow this one series. It keeps a relatively high level, the episodes are not long, they contain some good comedy, action, you can look at cool scenes and enjoy them. Sometimes they're as good as they give me as much joy as the first trilogy when I watched it on VHS. The first episode was pretty standard - we saw familiar characters again, quickly cut the issue of this actress who was in previous seasons (Disney fired her for criticizing Covid-19 vaccines), we got a synopsis of some events, we learned about the consequences of the second season and.. . that's it. Okay, there was also a meeting with the cult leader and Bo Katan, but nothing came out of them that we couldn't guess. Only after the next episodes will we be able to say more about it. It was ok, it could have been better, but the episode kept a solid, good level, like 7/10.

When it comes to this series, I haven't had such a problem with rating for a long time. On the one hand, this is the best adaptation of the game into the language of film (apart from "Arcane", but it's an animation), the quality is high, you can feel the money and commitment of the actors or creators. The script is also good or very good in most situations, but I have a few "buts" about it. I will not talk about small matters or individual things that IMO are broken, because apart from the thread of these two gays, I am not able to write about them, because I do not remember them. I don't know if I'll be watching this series a second time before writing a review, but I'm sure I'll come across various comments that will refresh my memory. To be clear, I mean mainly minor errors that appear in every work that is not polished tip-top (Rome season 1 or Boardwalk Empire). For example, the fact that zombies behave the way the writers like it, which normally doesn't bother me (i.e. when watching goofy zombie movies), but for a show like this, my expectations are a bit higher than usual. A couple of times the characters also behaved illogically, but I'm not sure if it was a screenwriter's mistake in every situation, or just a show of human, erroneous and imperfect nature (I don't know the game, I only played it for an hour, but I heard that it plays a lot it tells a lot about it, so I can't treat it as a bug). What I cannot defend is the fact that we were given too little time to build their relationship. Or otherwise, 9 episodes are enough, but we devoted one to the gays (in which the main characters were more filler than the main characters), the other to the flashbacks of this young lady (can't remember her name), in which the action didn't develop much either. The introductory episode doesn't count either, because there we get to know Joel and the world before and just after the pandemic. Add to that these two episodes with mercenaries, let's say that the equivalent of the third episode was devoted to showing the world. The relationship between the characters has developed, but that gives us about 5.5 episodes to show us their adventure. If I didn't know what this game is about, if it wasn't for my friends and buddies with whom I talked about this game (Krystian and Mariusz), I would be even more disappointed, because in this series I did not see the beautiful bond that connects them. I wanted to say "alleged bond", but that would be a mistake on my part - such popularity and such praise do not come out of nowhere. Don't get me wrong, it's a really good show and it's hard for me to really pick on anything, but I can't hide my profession either. If the last two episodes don't impress me as much as episode 1 (or the gay one, minus the cringe kiss scene that ruined the whole episode for me), then I won't be able to rate this show higher than +7/10.

I won't have any problems with assessing the latest work with a cult actor! A must for fans of classic gangster cinema in a slightly lighter form. Admittedly, the showrunner, to whom we also owe "Boardwalk Empire", no longer runs this series (creative differences, different vision of the protagonist), but it's not a story of Nucky's caliber, so someone less talented will do. This show is still drawn primarily by Sly and his hero. At first I was a little surprised by the plot, but all in all it's not that bad. On the contrary, because it is trivially simple, a man can fully relax and enjoy the view of one of the favorite faces of cinema. Besides, the series has a really great atmosphere, so even if the plot is irritating with its simplicity, we can turn a blind eye to it with my girlfriend. We both think that this is a unique work and it has been the most pleasant to watch for a long time (apart from series like "Boardwalk Empire" or the 3rd season of "Daredevil" and the like, because it is still the 1st league of series). And certainly better than the garbage produced by Disney, Netflix and a little less HBO. They say season 1 is great, we only have half of the episodes in Poland so far, but it's even better - waiting for season 2 will be less painful. This one will be available in the second half of this year. Sly hit the perfect spot, I hope that thanks to TK, I'll see him in other series, because this gentleman is like wine - the older, the better. His lyrics, facial expressions, character, attitude are pure GOLD! And criticism of the modern left, woke-ism and their ideas straight from outer space, a miracle!
Wczoraj pojawił się pierwszy odcinek "The Mandalorian", a że poza nim oglądamy co tydzień TLoU i w zeszłym tygodniu zaczęliśmy "Tulsa King" na SkyShowTime, który niedawno temu pojawił się w Polsce, to mam kilka rzeczy do powiedzenia. Co prawda każdy z tych seriali dostanie swój osobny tekst, ale są rzeczy, o których chcę napisać już teraz.

Tak w zasadzie, to trochę skłamałem - ten serial oglądam tylko ja, bo Asia nie lubi SW i ogląda to jednym okiem. Jeśli chodzi natomiast o mnie, to choć nie lubię już SW (co nie znaczy, że nie będę ich oglądał - po prostu nie będę się angażował już to w uniwersum), to ten jeden serial mogę śledzić. Trzyma w miarę wysoki poziom, odcinki nie są długie, zawierają trochę niezłej komedii, akcji, można się popatrzeć na fajne sceny i nacieszyć nimi oczy. Czasem są tak dobre, że dają mi tyle radości, co pierwsza trylogia, gdy oglądałem ją na VHS. Pierwszy odcinek był dość standardowy - ponownie zobaczyliśmy znane nam postacie, szybko ucięto kwestię tej aktorki, która była w poprzednich sezonach (Disney ją zwolnił za krytykowanie szczepionek na Covid-19), dostaliśmy streszczenie niektórych wydarzeń, dowiedzieliśmy się o konsekwencjach drugiego sezonu i... to tyle. No dobra, było jeszcze spotkanie z liderką sekty i Bo Katan, ale nie wynikło z nich nic, czego byśmy się nie mogli domyślić. Dopiero po kolejnych odcinkach, będzie można powiedzieć o tym coś więcej. Było ok, mogło być lepiej, ale odcinek trzymał solidny, dobry poziom, takie 7/10.

Jeśli chodzi o ten serial, to od dawna nie miałem takiego problemu z oceną. Z jednej strony, jest to najlepsza adaptacja gry na język filmu (pomijając "Arcane", ale to animacja), jakość jest wysoka, czuć tu pieniądz i zaangażowanie aktorów, czy twórców. Scenariusz też jest w większości sytuacji dobry lub bardzo dobry, ale mam wobec niego kilka "ale". O drobnych sprawach lub pojedynczych rzeczach, które IMO popsuto nie będę mówił, bo poza wątkiem tych dwóch gejów, nie jestem w stanie o nich napisać, bo ich nie pamiętam. Nie wiem, czy będę oglądał ten serial po raz drugi przed napisaniem recenzji, ale na pewno natrafię na różne komentarze, które odświeżą mi pamięć. Żeby była jasność, chodzi mi tu głównie o drobne błędy, które pojawiają się w każdym dziele, które nie jest dopracowane tip-top (1 sezon "Rome", czy "Boardwalk Empire"). Np. fakt, że zombie zachowują się tak, jak to pasuje scenarzystom, co normalnie mi nie przeszkadza (tzn. przy oglądaniu głupkowatych filmów o zombie), ale wobec takiego serialu, moje oczekiwania są nieco wyższe niż zwykle. Parę razy bohaterowie zachowali się też nielogicznie, ale nie jestem pewny, czy w każdej sytuacji był to błąd scenarzysty, czy po prostu pokaz ludzkiej, błędnej i niedoskonałej natury (nie znam gry, grałem w nią tylko godzinę, ale słyszałem, że gra w dużej mierze o tym opowiada, zatem nie mogę tego traktować jako błąd). Czego nie mogę obronić, to fakt, że dostaliśmy zbyt mało czasu na budowę ich relacji. Albo inaczej, 9 odcinków wystarcza, ale poświęciliśmy jeden na gejów (w którym główni bohaterowie byli bardziej jako filler niż najważniejsze postacie), drugi na retrospekcje tej młodej (nie mogę zapamiętać jej imienia), w którym akcja również nie rozwinęła się za bardzo. Epizod wprowadzający też się nie liczy, bo tam poznajemy przede wszystkim Joela i świat przed i tuż po pandemii. Dodajmy do tego te dwa odcinki z najemnikami, tu powiedzmy że poświęcono równowartość trzeciego odcinka na rzecz pokazania świata. Relacja między bohaterami się rozwinęła, ale to daje nam około 5.5 odcinka na pokazanie nam ich przygody. Gdybym nie wiedział, o czym jest ta gra, gdyby nie moi przyjaciele i kumple, z którymi rozmawiałem o tej grze (Krystian i Mariusz), to byłbym jeszcze bardziej rozczarowany, bo w tym serialu nie dostrzegłem tej pięknej więzi, jaka ich łączy. Chciałem powiedzieć "rzekomej więzi", ale byłby to błąd z mojej strony - taka popularność i takie pochwały nie biorą się znikąd. Nie zrozumcie mnie źle, to naprawdę bardzo dobry serial i trudno mi się do czegoś naprawdę przyczepić, ale nie jestem też w stanie ukrywać mojego zawodu. Jeżeli dwa ostatnie odcinki nie zrobią na mnie równie dużego wrażenia, jak 1 (lub ten z gejami, minus cringe'owa scena pocałunku, która zepsuła mi cały odcinek), to nie będę w stanie ocenić tego serialu wyżej niż +7/10.

Nie będę miał za to najmniejszych problemów przy ocenie najnowszego dzieła z kultowym aktorem! Pozycja obowiązkowa dla fanów klasycznego kina gangsterskiego w nieco lżejszej formie. Co prawda showrunner, któremu zawdzięczamy również "Boardwalk Empire" już nie prowadzi tego serialu (różnice kreatywne, inna wizja protagonisty), ale nie jest to historia tego kalibru jak Nucky'ego, więc ktoś mniej utalentowany wystarczy. To show i tak ciągnie przede wszystkim Sly i jego bohater. Początkowo byłem trochę zdziwiony fabułą, ale w sumie nie jest taka zła. Wprost przeciwnie, przez to że jest banalnie prosta, to człowiek może się w pełni zrelaksować i rozkoszować widokiem jednej z ulubionych twarzy kina. Poza tym, serial ma naprawdę świetny klimat, przez co nawet jak fabuła irytuje swoją prostotą, to możemy na to przymknąć oko z moją dziewczyną. Oboje uważamy, że jest to dzieło unikalne i oglądało się je nam najprzyjemniej od bardzo dawna (pomijając seriale jak "Boardwalk Empire", czy 3 sezon "Daredevila" i im podobne, bo to mimo wszystko 1 liga seriali). A już na pewno lepiej od tych śmieci, które produkuje Disney, Netflix oraz nieco mniej HBO. Podobno 1 sezon jest świetny, my póki co mamy dopiero połowę odcinków w Polsce, ale to nawet lepiej - oczekiwanie na 2 będzie mniej bolesne. A ten ma się pojawić w drugiej połowie tego roku. Sly trafił idealnie, mam nadzieję że dzięki TK, zobaczę go w innych serialach, bo ten Pan jest jak wino - im starszy, tym lepszy. Jego teksty, mimika, charakter, postawa, to czyste ZŁOTO! No i krytyka współczesnej lewicy, woke-izmu i ich pomysłów rodem z kosmosu, cudo!
