I've mentioned several times that I don't like romantic movies as a rule. Most of them, like action movies, young-adult series or shounen manga series, are too repetitive, at least for me. If we like them, their disadvantages are less of a problem for us, if not - they are more visible to us than to the fans. I also mentioned that I like to watch them, as long as they have one element that distinguishes them from most and has a large impact on the plot. It doesn't have to change much. Ba - patterns characteristic of this genre can remain, as well as cliché relations, as long as the creators do not exaggerate with them. If only this one aspect had a significant influence on the rest. A very nice addition is the higher age category. It does not have to be +18, but +16 is enough (underwear, violence, more spicy dialogues - it adds realism, because, contrary to what some people claim, the sexual sphere is as important as the emotional sphere - no more or less). And "The Time Traveler's Wife" is just such a series. This is an adaptation of a book by Audrey Niffenegger. In 2009, a movie version of the same title was released and I plan to make up for it someday. Correction, we've already done it (with my girlfriend) and the text will probably be available in a week's time.
We came across this series by accident - we finished watching "Le Case de Papel" and had nothing to watch together. I was lying on my bed looking for something new on HBO and Netflix. Even though I often see the same propositions, sometimes I find something in them that I have not noticed before. Mainly because of the bland title or poster, sometimes too general description that is not very convincing. It was exactly the same in this case - I suggested a session and Asia agreed. The plot is simple - Henry suffers from a certain disease, or should I say, has a gift. A gift that enables him to travel through time. It has some limitations, it differs from what we saw in many titles on this subject - the hero meets his younger and older versions. as well - they help each other. Ie. they rescue from a difficult situation, provide shelter, give good advice - something that not one of us would do with such power. By the way, there's another scene out there that fits in with what a lot of male teens have tried to do but no one has succeeded. I will not spoil, but you will understand immediately what is going on. Henry not only meets with himself, but also with his girlfriend at different stages of her life - from a 6-year-old girl, to a young (but still illegal) teenager, now a legal version who is free to talk about her fantasies with her future husband, ending with its 30-year-old version and even older. There are also additional threads, but most of all we observe their relationship at different stages of life. This has its advantages and disadvantages that I will not reveal to you. Let me just say this - there are jokes and references to "our" affairs, for both women and men who are in a relationship.
As for the actors, there are few of them. 3 and 2 versions of the main characters (younger, second younger and older girl - the teenage and 30-year-old version is played by the same actress known from "Game of Thrones". As for the guy, we see his younger and older version) + her an older version played by another lady. A couple who are friends with our heroes, and the rest are episodic characters - the redhead's family and the protagonist's ex girlfriend. I don't know any of them or any of them except John Snow's ginger lover from GoT, but they played really well for the show.
Rarely have I liked a romance more than a girl. I don't remember how many years ago there was such a case, but I was definitely a teenager then (film with Adam Sandler, about an affair with a woman who lives the same day every day). It is not outstanding, I would rather not call it very good - it is a bit bland, it does not stand out too much (which my girlfriend complained about, it bothered me to a lesser extent). On the other hand, I can say that it is good, has a pleasant atmosphere, solidly written characters (although they do not stand out from the others, apart from the main pair, which looks a bit better) and is just right for the evening relaxation before returning to work. Besides, you can easily watch it with your partner or partner - if they are not very allergic to romantic movies (like I am to musicals), they shouldn't complain. From me 7/10. If I was guided primarily by subjective feelings, I would have rated it higher, but unfortunately not everything turned out very well in it. However, this does not change the fact that I had a great time.

Ba - mogą zostać schematy charakterystyczne dla tego gatunku, tak samo kliszowe relacje, o ile twórcy z nimi z nie przesadzają. Byleby ten jeden aspekt znacząco wpływał na resztę. Bardzo miłym dodatkiem jest wyższa kategoria wiekowa. Nie musi to być +18, ale +16 w zupełności wystarczy (bielizna, przemoc, bardziej pikantne dialogi - dodaje to realizmu, bo wbrew temu co twierdzą niektórzy ludzie, sfera seksualna jest równie ważna, co sfera emocjonalna - ni mniej ni więcej). Tzn. ratują z ciężkiej sytuacji, zapewniają schronienie, dają dobre rady - coś co nie jeden z nas zrobiłby mając taką moc. Swoją drogą, jest tam też inna scena, która pasuje do tego, co wielu nastolatków płci męskiej próbowało zrobić, ale nikomu się nie udało. Nie będę spoilerował, ale odrazu zrozumiecie o co chodzi. Henry nie tylko spotyka się sam ze sobą, ale również ze swoją dziewczyną na różnych etapach jej życia - od 6-letniej dziewczynki, po młodą (ale ciągle nielegalną) nastolatkę, legalną już wersję, która może swobodnie mówić o swoich fantazjach z przyszłym mężem, kończąc na jej 30-letniej wersji oraz jeszcze starszej. Są jeszcze dodatkowe wątki, ale przede wszystkim obserwujemy ich relację na różnych etapach życia. Ma to swoje wady i zalety, których Wam nie zdradzę. Powiem tylko tyle - są tu żarty i nawiązania do "naszych" spraw, zarówno dla kobiet, jak i mężczyzn, którzy są w związku.
Jeśli chodzi o aktorów, to jest ich niewielu. 3 i 2 wersje głównych bohaterów (młodsza, druga młodsza i starsza dziewczyna - wersja nastoletnia i 30-letnia jest odgrywana przez tą samą aktorkę znaną z "Game of Thrones". Jeśli chodzi o faceta, to widzimy jego młodszą i starszą wersję) + jej starsza wersja grana przez inną panią. Para, która przyjaźni się z naszymi bohaterami, a reszta to postacie epizodyczne - rodzina rudowłosej oraz ex dziewczyna protagonisty. Nie znam żadnego ani żadnej z nich poza rudowłosą kochanką Johna Snowa z GoT, jednakże zagrali naprawdę dobrze, jak na serial.
Rzadko kiedy zdarza się, że polubiłem jakiś romans bardziej od dziewczyny. Nie pamiętam ile lat temu był taki przypadek, ale na pewno byłem wtedy nastolatkiem (film z Adamem Sandlerem, o romansie z kobietą, która codziennie przeżywa ten sam dzień). Nie jest on wybitny, raczej nie nazwę go też bardzo dobrym - jest trochę zbyt mdły, zbyt słabo się wyróżnia (na co narzekała przede wszystkim moja dziewczyna, mi to przeszkadzało w mniejszym stopniu). Mogę natomiast powiedzieć, że jest dobry, ma przyjemny klimat, solidnie napisanych bohaterów (aczkolwiek niewyróżniających się na tle innych, pomijając główną parę, która prezentuje się odrobinę lepiej) i w sam raz nadaje się do wieczornego relaksu przed powrotem do pracy. Poza tym, bez problemu możecie go obejrzeć ze swoją partnerką lub partnerem - jeżeli nie mają mocnej alergii na filmy romantyczne (tak jak ja na musicale), to nie powinni narzekać. Ode mnie 7/10. Gdybym kierował się przede wszystkim subiektywnymi odczuciami, to oceniłbym go wyżej, ale niestety, nie wszystko w nim wyszło bardzo dobrze. Nie zmienia to jednak faktu, że bawiłem się świetnie.
