After only a good second season, "Gomorra" showed up from the better side again. I still consider the S1 the best, but the 3 in my personal ranking is right behind it. There are more actions, emotions, we have more flesh and blood characters, more interesting threads (although some of them are repetitive ... On the other hand, what to expect when there is a war for influence in individual districts and cities), and most of all, it is less boring. Admittedly, at some point I complained a bit (somewhere around the 4th and 5th episode), but it didn't last too long. Gennaro is behaving like a real king more and more often - he started to think more often, plan his next moves, and less often act impulsively. In turn, his brother Ciro has changed and ceased to be a ruthless dick. You can see that the death of his daughter and the loss of his wife (through his own fault, in the case of his chosen one) shocked him. Initially, he was running away from the consequences, but his flight to Bulgaria changed him completely - it was clearly visible in the catharsis that was caused by watching teenage prostitutes transported to brothels (as it is done with people from our part of Europe - Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, etc.) and illegal immigrants. Eventually I saw a man in him who really understood what a bastard he had been so far. I liked him so much that I was furious with his friend when he ordered Gennaro to murder Ciro. I will not say that Ciro did not deserve it, to tell you the truth I understand the king's son's decision and I am not surprised that he did so. This time he failed to cheat Death and did not escape from under her scythe. Thanks to this cliffhanger, I honestly don't know what will happen next ... Except for one thread that I accidentally read about, in a similar way to the description of Ciro's death on the internet (i.e. I spoiled my experience twice). Well, I will not talk about him, because it is a spoiler from the next season.
What else did I like? Apart from the great brotherly bond between them (by the way, they showed really well what it looks like with guys who sometimes have to bite like wolves, explain things to themselves by screaming, but after that they often become brothers with an indestructible relationship), I liked the new gangsters . The Savastano family no longer had allies, so they had to look for fighters for their army in the second (or third) league of the Italian mafia. They were hungry for money and influence that the elders (colleagues Pietro Savastano) and thirsty for blood took from them, and this is sometimes a greater advantage than the power level of those they want to overcome. Such people often have a greater and stronger motivation which is sometimes key to victory. Thanks to this, they are more aggressive, they can afford bolder movements, they do not feel safe, and their brains work better when coming up with better solutions. I liked it all the more because this season was full of various betrayals, conspiracies, conspiracies, changing sides of the conflict ... At one point there were so many that I felt like I was watching "Kingdom". I have lost track of who is supporting whom, but it didn't take very long, so I don't treat it as a disadvantage. For a while it was too complicated, but after a short time everything was visible as if in an open hand. This type of chaos is a downside, of course, but it was relatively minor.
I know the text is quite short and you get the impression that I wrote it a bit by force, but I just don't know what else to write. Perhaps it is because a lot of things repeat themselves (or we get similar threads), and because I don't like repeating myself, I forget about it. That's why after this season I'm taking a longer break from "Gomorrah" - this series is too good for me to watch it casually. I want to feel real hunger, and now I'm a little saturated with it. If you like series about the mafia, then I stand by my opinion from the first text - it's worth watching it. I think it portrays the Italians' problem with these gangsters quite well. Not to mention the presentation of their impact on the local community, because this is (next to the heroes and heroines) its greatest advantage. This is not a production without flaws, or something on the level of "House of Cards", "The Sopranos" or "Boardwalk Empire". I think I could say that this is the second league among the series or the final positions from 1. Like the new heroes from season 3, they present themselves to those we met in the 1st and 2nd season. This is by no means an insult, it's still very high (or at least not bad) level. It's not a must-watch, but I don't think many people are complaining that they've wasted their time. I will probably discuss the 4th and 5th season in the first, longer text. I will see them in half a year in the middle of summer, when the temperature matches the Italian climate. I rate this season at +7/10.
Po zaledwie niezłym, drugim sezonie, "Gomorra" znowu pokazała się od lepszej strony. Nadal uważam S1 za najlepszy, ale 3 w moim personalnym rankingu, znajduje się tuż za nim. Jest więcej akcji, emocji, mamy więcej postaci z krwi i kości, ciekawsze wątki (aczkolwiek część z nich jest powtarzalna... Z drugiej strony, czego się spodziewać w sytuacji, gdy cały czas trwa wojna o wpływy w poszczególnych dzielnicach i miastach), no i przede wszystkim jest mniej nudno Co prawda na pewnym etapie trochę narzekałem (gdzieś tak w okolicy 4, 5 odcinka), ale nie trwało to zbyt długo. Gennaro coraz częściej zachowuje się jak prawdziwy król - zaczął częściej myśleć, planować kolejne ruchy, rzadziej działa w sposób impulsywny. Z kolei jego brat Ciro, zmienił się i przestał być bezwzględnym chujem. Widać, że śmierć córki i utrata żony (z jego własnej winy, w przypadku wybranki jego serca) wywołała w nim szok. Początkowo uciekał od konsekwencji, ale ucieczka do Bułgarii kompletnie go zmieniła - doskonale to było widać po katharsis, które zostało spowodowane obserwowaniem nastoletnich prostytutek wywożonych do burdeli (tak jak to się robi z ludźmi z naszej części Europy - Polski, Ukrainy, Litwy etc.) i nielegalnych imigrantów. W końcu zobaczyłem w nim człowieka, który naprawdę zrozumiał, jakim skurwielem był dotychczas. Tak bardzo go polubiłem, że byłem wściekły na jego kolegę, gdy ten rozkazał Gennaro, by zamordował Ciro. Nie powiem, że Ciro sobie nie zasłużył, prawdę powiedziawszy rozumiem decyzję syna króla i nie dziwię się, że tak postąpił. Tym razem mu się nie udało oszukać Śmierci i nie uciekł spod jej kosy. Dzięki temu cliffhangerowi, autentycznie nie wiem, co się stanie dalej... Poza jednym wątkiem, o którym przypadkowo przeczytałem, w podobny sposób co natrafiłem na opis śmierci Ciro w internecie (czyli w sumie popsułem sobie wrażenia dwukrotnie). No ale o nim nie będę mówił, bo to spoiler z kolejnego sezonu.
Co mi się podobało poza tym? Pomijając świetną, braterską więź między nimi (swoją drogą, naprawdę dobrze pokazali, jak to wygląda u facetów, którzy czasami muszą się pogryźć jak wilki, wyjaśnić sobie pewne rzeczy krzykiem, ale po tym częst zostają braćmi z niezniszczalną relacją), to polubiłem nowych gangsterów. Rodzina Savastano już nie miała sojuszników, więc musieli poszukać wojowników do swojej armii w drugiej (albo i trzeciej) lidze włoskiej mafii. Ci byli wygłodniali pieniędzy i wpływów, które zabrała im starszyzna (koledzy Pietro Savastano) oraz spragnieni krwi, a to czasami bywa większą zaletą niż power level tych, których chcą pokonać. Tacy ludzie często mają większą silniejszą motywację, która czasami jest kluczowa do zwycięstwa. Są dzięki temu agresywniejsi, stać ich na odważniejsze ruchy, nie ciąży im poczucie bezpieczeństwa, a mózgi lepiej pracują, przy wymyślaniu lepszych rozwiązań. Spodobało mi się to tym bardziej, że szczególnie ten sezon obfitował w różne zdrady, konszachty, spiski, zmienianie strony konfliktu... W pewnym momencie było ich tyle, że poczułem się jakbym oglądał "Kingdom". Straciłem rachubę, kto kogo popiera, ale nie trwało to zbyt długo, więc nie traktuję tego jak wadę. Przez jakiś czas było to za bardzo skomplikowane, ale po krótkim czasie wszystko było widoczne, jak na otwartej dłoni. Tego typu chaos jest wadą, to oczywiste, ale był on relatywnie niewielki.
Wiem, że tekst jest dość krótki i można odnieść wrażenie, że napisałem go trochę na siłę, ale po prostu nie wiem co więcej napisać. Być może wynika to z tego, że wiele rzeczy się powtarza (lub dostajemy podobne wątki), a że nie lubię się powtarzać, to zapominam o tym. Dlatego po tym sezonie robię sobie dłuższą przerwę od "Gomorry" - ten serial jest zbyt dobry bym oglądał go od niechcenia. Chcę poczuć autentyczny głód, a obecnie jestem nim trochę przesycony. Jeżeli lubicie seriale o mafii, to podtrzymuję swoją opinię z pierwszego tekstu - warto go obejrzeć. Wydaje mi się, że całkiem dobrze przedstawia problem Włochów z tymi gangsterami. Nie wspominając o przedstawieniu ich wpływu na lokalną społeczność, bo to (obok bohaterów i bohaterek) jego największa zaleta. Nie jest to produkcja bez wad, ani coś na poziomie "House of Cards", "The Sopranos", czy " Boardwalk Empire". Myślę że mógłbym powiedzieć, że to taka druga liga wśród seriali lub końcowe pozycje z 1. Tak jak nowi bohaterowie z 3 sezonu, prezentują się względem tych, których poznaliśmy w 1 i 2. Nie jest to w żadnym przypadku obelga, to nadal bardzo wysoki (lub co najmniej niezły) poziom. Nie jest to must-watch, ale nie wydaje mi się, by wielu ludzi narzekało, że zmarnowało czas. 4 i 5 sezon chyba omówię w 1, dłuższym tekście. Obejrzę je za pół roku w środku lata, jak temperatura będzie pasowała do Włoskiego klimatu. Oceniam ten sezon na +7/10.
