SARS is an acronym of Special Anti Robbery Squard, a section of the Nigerian Police. It was was organized few years ago to combat robbery and criminal cases.
Unfortunately, the activities of SARS has made youths in Nigeria to stand against it and call for its end. The men of SARS now harass youths and prey on them by extorting them and even go to the extent of killing them.
Many youth have lost their lives just because of these actions of the SARS men. Once they see a young person with a laptop, iphone, riding a nice car or with a kind of hairstyle, they immediately pound on the person and many have died as a result of this.
Protests have been held severally to stop the activities of these men and all the government have been saying was ban today, reform tomorrow but the killing did not stop.
We the young ones involve in crypto have had the most share of the activities of the SARS men. Some of my crypto friends have the killed and many of us have been harassed, beaten and shot at. In fact almost all of us doing fine in crypto have had our share in one way or the other.
After several protest from young Nigerians without any change, another aggressive protest is on going and this time, we have decided not to back out until an end has been put to SARS.
We have been going out on the streets in every states of the country and we have also been doing an aggressive protest on Twitter, calling on international communities and media houses to join us an help us to broadcast the protest.
The hashtag on Twitter is #EndSARS which has been trending number 1 worldwide for two days now.
It is unfortunate that I have not seen many of my crypto friends on Twitter joining the protest by helping us to tweet #EndSARS. We should know that most people affected by this activities of the SARS men are young people who are into cryptocurrency.
So, this is calling on everyone to please support this protest by lending your voice to save the lives of crypto entrepreneurs (traders and investors) and the entire youths in Nigeria.
