My evergreen playlist track for today is They don't care about us by one of the greatest American singers of all time, Michael Jackson from his HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I released in 1995.
This song is a dedication to my brothers and sisters in the Nigeria nation that decided to Speak out ("Soro Soke") against the long standing police brutality and corruption in government.
Governmental corruption, police brutality and impunity is the order of the day in Nigeria and for the last 25 years, it has gone from bad to worse and taken roots in every sphere of government.
This song though old, sends the same message it did 25 years ago when it was first played.
The leaders that are supposed to protect the people are the ones making life difficult for them by looting their sovereign wealth and subjecting them to penury.
The oppressors don't care about us and will keep doing the worst of things to us until we stand and resist them.
For everyone out on this #ENDSARS movement, I wish you well and see us getting the best of our world.
