Green Greetings,

Earlier this week, we launched our 2024 environmental club activities in six schools across the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon. Spearheading these initiatives was our Director of Projects and Programs, Petiuh Frederick Tandah, who collaborated closely with our Environmental Club coordinators, including Nsangou Rudolf, and Abousou Fombah Robert, among others.
This year, we are proud to announce our partnership with Grades of Green, offering an enriching package to empower students to become environmental stewards.

At Educare, Frederick and his team engaged 30 students in utilizing the Problem/Solution tree to identify various environmental challenges in our community, their root causes, and potential solutions.
Rudolf applied the same creative tool on Wednesday with 11 students at GBHS Mendakwe, while Robert worked with 25 students at CCAS Kumba. Our collaboration extends to CAMSCI and GPS Alahlie as well.

This week's focus primarily involved self-introductions and employing the Problem/Solution tree to identify environmental challenges, root causes, and potential solutions.
Across all participating schools, global warming, waste management, deforestation, agricultural insecurity, and water scarcity emerged as major environmental concerns within the communities.
While students acknowledged their role in contributing to these challenges, they expressed inspiration and readiness to take action for positive change.

Next week, we plan to assign club coordinators for each school, commencing the use of Grades of Green and The Greens' environmental education toolkits to educate students about identified issues and empower them to take action.

While we look forward to climate education and action, our overarching goal is to eradicate plastic bottle and tire pollution in Bamenda and Kumba by the end of 2026. Through these environmental clubs and future initiatives, we aim to nurture a generation of environmental stewards who will passionately advocate for and actively contribute to ending plastic bottle and tire pollution.

Yes, we can #BeatPlasticPollution.
