Shrinkflation: when everything (including price) about a product is the same as it ever was, except how much you get! This time, I bring you a bag of "Kettle" salt and vinegar chips, which has remained at the same price for 3 years, while quietly shrinking in size!
As I said in my previous post on the topic...
"The pricetag is the same but you get less. Shrinkflation is a common (if you know where to look) sign of price inflation. Companies don't loudly advertise they're doing this, because it's sneaky. It's harder to spot than normal food inflation, where the size/amount stays the same while the price goes up."

So that's a 10% loss of product over 2 years, or 5% per year. That's roughly the official rate of inflation in Canada nowadays, meaning this company has been passing on the problem to their customers. By quietly reducing the amount of food in each bag, but keeping everything else about it the same, customers don't notice the loss.
Inflation is bad right now, and one way they're trying to hide it, is through this tactic known as shrinkflation. Be on the lookout!

Daiya cheese was a bad culprit of this too. They perfected their monteray jack cheese and then started putting oatmilk instead of coconut...that makes a softer cheese which is NOT jack. and then they made smaller bags which feels so shameful buying that much plastic for such a small amount of food. Same with Beyond burger: no more mung beans.
Here they have done both, raise the price, and reduce the product volume! I had trouble feeding the homeless last time, because the bage of egg noodles were 25% lighter. I had some for cooking here, but the batch of food was 'light's this time! It's time to find another vendor for egg noodles...and buy in bulk.

It looks like a waning erection...
It is not only in your place in ours also. Haist! The prices are really high and yet you get smaller in value. It pains our pocket a lot.
Yours is far better. The inflation rate here has skyrocket above the roof here and the price of food stuff has increase whereas the bags for those food stuff has greatly reduce.
Happy New Year 🥰🥰
