Building A Worm Colony - Week #2

in ecoblurt •  4 years ago

In this episode of building a Worm 🐛 Colony, I talk about removing the newspaper to peat moss.

I find the newspaper was clumping up and was really hard to move around and was getting wetter than I had hoped.

With bin #2 It has built up a very nice colony and turned the peat and compost into some very viable Earth Worm Castings.

The plan for the second bin is to start transferring some of the worms to a 3rd bin I will be building with peat moss and some cardboard.

With the second image, I like to move the old casting to the side and put the fresh ground up compost/Food on the bottom of the bin this was I can bury it more and have less chance to get flys
