My friends and I run a Nonprofit organization called Green Gulbarga and we plant trees for free across my city to fight global warming.
In 2020 we couldn't plant any trees and we couldn't do any plantation drives because of COVID and the restrictions that were put up by the Government.
A few days ago I get a call and someone wants to plant trees in their open land.
I agree and I help them buy the trees. We selected trees that are about two years old so that they will have a greater chance at survival.
We visited the location and we started to plant trees.
We had already planted 300+ trees at this location last in 2019 but due to heavy rains in 2020 the trees couldn't survive.
The whole land was filled with two-three feet of water and this water logging caused the trees to rot.
I know it sounds sad and like our hard work was wasted but no I think of it like a circle of life.
Nature is unpredictable and we do not know what will happen in future. It is always good to be prepared and when the trees get destroyed we go and plant them again.
We have to be consistent and keep doing the work that we want to do. I enjoy being a part of nature and planting trees so it doesn't matter how many times the trees dry or rot or are destroyed by someone, I will always go back and plant again and again.
We got about 60 trees and planted about 20 yesterday.
Enthusiasm and love for trees 😊
After planting a few trees I was tired and sat under the shade of a beautiful Gulmohar tree. It wa a peaceful and calm day.
It was later in the evening when we went back home and I could feel my muscles aching but I love it when I spend an entire day planting trees and building green cover for the further generation.
We have planted at least 10,000 trees since we started in 2018.
I know a lot of these trees couldn't survive due to various natural causes but that's how life is. You have to keep doing it and keep motivating everyone to plant just one tree each year.
Join hands with me and let's plant trees for a breathable tomorrow.
That's all from my side for today. I'll be back with more later.
