LIGHTNING: Re-Imagined

This is my other entry for my lighting photography.

How do you feel when you see lightning right before your eyes? Are you scared? Of course, you are, ahh we are to be precise. It's scary. Very frightening that when a flick happens, we scream out loud harmonizing to its sound while rushing to go somewhere safe and closed area. Toes and legs are trembling. Eyes closed and heart’s beating faster than normal. And also we cover our ears with our hands as the rumbling thunder follows. Imagining the feels? Here’s more. Silver accessories are being removed from our body as quickly as possible or when indoor, mirrors are covered, electronic appliances are turned off, or the entire power of the house is shut off to avoid any unwanted incidents. We did this, right?

On the other side of that frightening occurrence, let’s take into consideration its unseen beauty. I’m talking about the lightning ⚡️ in a distance. I mean far from where we stayed. I am also afraid of lightning but seeing how spectacular the striking lights are, how the electrical charge branching out, or how vastly its root-like strokes spreading and splitting in different directions, it’s just WOW! The flickering lights inside and outside of the clouds are stunning. And just seeing the group of dark clouds turned into a magic show✨ is nonetheless worth a risk. Yet, it is not always wonderful as we expected it to show us. Sometimes it’ll only last a few seconds. And sometimes the ignitions are also minimal. What we wanted to witness is the continuous strikes and the branching stroke that last for a couple of minutes. With that, I consider it picture-perfect.

Friendly reminder, when taking pictures of this splendor scene make sure you are not holding your camera. Just leave it in the best spot and let it do the work. As you, go to a safer place to watch or go indoors and have a glimpse of it in a window. If you’re done and satisfied, then pick up your camera. At least, if it happened to be caught by a stroke then you just save your life. Still, lightning is a fast lightning bolt that could kill lives so as much as possible stay away from it.

I’m not hoping for it to always happen. I got worried too and asked myself, what could have had possibly happened right below it. Anyway, it will happen anytime, anywhere and we don’t have control over it. As for us who always take an image of any eye-catching moments or things, let’s enjoy, appreciate and collect wonderful photos to look back and make use of it someday.

P.S.
I am not a pro in photography. I just love taking photographs using only my mobile phone.
