Very early in the morning it was my turn to attend the sale of vegetables and fruits. The first days of the week are my favorite days to make these purchases. I decided to buy beets this time because its price was one of the cheapest. As you know the prices increase at this time of the year and even triple the amount they normally have. So I selected vegetables and vegetables of lower price and thus buy variety and quantity.
My preparation today is a powerful drink that is very healthy, delicious and refreshing. The taste of the hibiscus flower is spectacular with its pleasant acidity, the ginger with a spicy and refreshing touch, the beet star vegetable that provides nutrients and has beneficial properties for our health and the lemon that provides acidity, vitamin C, integrates the flavors and enhances them in a fantastic way in which we do not need to add any sweet additive.
I hope you can prepare it at home and enjoy it with your family in these days of hustle and bustle and demands of all kinds. So I recommend you to prepare this powerful and refreshing drink. The recipe and quantities of my ingredients are enough for one glass. Here is my step by step.
INGREDIENTS
1 medium beet
1 lemon
4 dried hibiscus flowers
1 piece of Ginger approximately 1 cm
250 ml of water.
Ice and parsley sprig
PREPARATION
Amigo the first thing I did was to select my ingredients and wash my vegetables: beet, ginger and lemon. Immediately, I took a pot and added the water which I put on the fire to boil. I added the hibiscus flowers to the pot and let them boil for two minutes. I turned it off and let it cool. As I wanted to drink my beverage, I put the pot in a water bath with cold water to cool it faster.
While that was happening I peeled and cut into small pieces the beet. I also peeled the ginger. I added these two ingredients to the blender beaker along with the cold juice of the hibiscus flower that I previously strained. I put to process in the blender for three minutes. I then took the opportunity to squeeze the lemon into the pitcher. Once my mixture was ready, I added it to the pitcher with a strainer. This time I removed the fiber that I will use in another preparation.
In a glass with ice I added my drink and decorated it with a sprig of parsley. Friends of #blurt, this drink was fantastic and incredible and you can't miss it this holiday season.
