It's too brief to waste time thinking; instead, pursue your goals

It always makes me pause and reflect. I find myself asking a lot of questions about where my life is heading and where I am at in it. Things like: Am I truly pursuing my passions? Do I want to spend the rest of my life doing this? Is my only motivation for working this job money? Is it true that I would sacrifice other significant aspects of a job for a high salary? Did I choose to work at this specific location on my own, or did my parents' ideas about long-term stability, decent pay, and job security affect me?

I'm sure a lot of you can identify. We all experience these kinds of quandaries from time to time, especially if we don't seem to be pursuing or living our own dreams. Naturally, everyone of us has obligations to our families. However, why must that come at the expense of our personal goals, aspirations, and desires? More importantly, how long will we continue to use these "responsibilities" as a justification for not pursuing our true passions in life?

Many people simply perform what appears to be a nice thing but isn't particularly rewarding for them throughout their entire lives, living life without any sort of strategy or purpose. Of course, a lot of these folks are fortunate enough to have successful relationships, but not everyone is. Most of them wind up far from where they had imagined themselves to be or where they wish to be. They appear to throw their lives away, more often than not, constructing the dream of someone else for themselves. And it can be excruciatingly painful and irritating. It also comes down to bravery.

It becomes challenging and frightening to try to free yourself once you've become enmeshed in the routine and grind of anything, so you just continue to play it safe after that.
