This is my one y/o, male "askal" (street dog") mix.
His mother was my neighbors' dog. She suffered from an all-to-common fate for dogs in the Philippines; that is, as soon as she wasn't a cute puppy anymore, she was perpetally chained to a tree or fence in the backyard, then largely ignored.
Fortunate for her, but unfortunate for her newly weaned puppies, she broke her chain - yes, even when nursing her litter, she remained tethered to a tree. Then she ran away from my neighbor and hasn't been seen since.
That happened 13 months ago.
My dog is neither a pedigreed pure-bred, nor a handsome stud. Those things don't impress me.
IMHO, what's far more important is that he's fiercely loyal and "GETS THE JOB DONE 24/7, "come rain or come shine"; alerting me the moment someone enters my property.
And for those reasons, I named him "Glock".
...
May you and yours be well and loving life today.
