Diwali decoration at the Mall

Mumbai city is glittering with lights, wherever you go you find the Diwali lights and decorations. The malls have wonderful Diwali decorations, they look glamorous. Every year I notice it's getting bigger and better.
Last week I was at one of the city malls where they had this set up. This is a place where there are multiple malls and then there is a courtyard. This particular set up was not exactly in the mall, it was in the courtyard. Some or the other event keeps happening in this place all the time, especially during the weekend. On this particular day there was no event, but there was a DJ who was playing music. It was not some dancing music but nice soothing one which you would enjoy hearing it in the passing.

I love this set up of the Diya flame, it so represents the festival and is surrounded by lotus flowers which add beauty to it. A Diya (lamp) in Indian culture represents enlightenment, prosperity, knowledge and wisdom and Lotus flower represents purity, strength, resilience, and rebirth. Both of them holds a lot of importance in the Indian traditions and culture.

There are these prayer wheels with some positive messages for the festival. It's very new and unique this time. These type of prayer wheels are normally seen in Buddhist temples, monasteries and stupas. People turn them clockwise and chant mantras going around them. It is said that when you chant mantras turning these wheels then you purify yourself from the negative energy and you accumulate good karma and wisdom.

It feels nice to have such vibes in public places, it brings in a lot of cheer and joy when you are in this place.
