Recently tea topics in Bangladesh has come on trending page. Almost 4 hundred years ago, there was no tea in this subcontinent. People of this are didn't know about this tea. But when British came in this sub-continent, tea also entered here with them. And then tea was gradually spreading among the people of this area. At first, the English import tea leaves from outside of this area. But after a while they realised that the weather of this area is very suitable to cultivate tea leaves. And since then they tried to cultivate tea here and now after 4 hundred years later of 1st cultivation, this subcontinent are exporting a huge amount of tea leaves after fulfilling the demand of native people.

Bangladesh is a small country here in Indian subcontinent and located just after the bay of Bengal. In Sylhet division of Bangladesh, a huge amount of tea leaves are cultivated with that our govt. can export tea leaves after fulfilling the demand of our people and earning a huge amount of foreign currency. Our tea leaves is very popular in all over the world. But there is a very sad story behind this tea leaves in this country. To cultivate tea, there need a lot of workers. Almost all of the workers in tea garden is the ethnic group of people. But the irony of fat is the rish owner of the tea garden is doing discrimination with these tea workers. While a general day labour in other parts of Bangladesh is paid 400-500 BDT (4-5 USD) per day, This tea workers get only 100 BDT (1 USD) per day. WIth this small money no one can lead their life, even in the worst way. I am a student of a public university of Bangladesh. I have no fees in university, no fees for resident as I live in a govt. hostel and even then I have a cost of 200 BDT (2 USD) per day. Then how a tea worker can lead his life with 1 USD per day?

Recently they are raising their voice to increase their daily wages to 3 USD or they don't work there. I fully agree with them. It is their leagal right. Now I am looking for the decision from our govt. though I have a little belief on them.
