Every school year, our school conducts deworming activity for school age children. It is done twice a year, at the beginning and at end of the school year.

Pupils will be given a deworming tablet to be taken to kill worms, - commonly tape, round and hook worm that infest their bodies especially children below 18 years old. This medicine is safe, easy, effective and free of charge. All the common worm infections of school age children can be treated effectively with two single dose.

Before this activity, we need the parents to sign first their parental consent allowing their children to participate in this activity. Most of my parents signed the consent 'coz they knew that it is only for the health of their children.

Why do we need to dewormed our children?

Children are most vulnerable to worm infections, as their immune system is not yet fully developed. Untreated worm infections prevent children's healthy growth, cause poor nutrition and reduce their capacity to concentrate and learn. A single dose of deworming treatment drastically reduces the number of worms in each child. Regular treatment contribute to good health and nutrition for children of school age, which in turn leads to increase enrollment and attendance, reduced class repetition and better educational attainment. Children need this deworming medicine to grow healthier and learn better in school. As a teacher, it is our role to ensure that every child in our class takes the appropriate dosage of medicine.
