Wieder mal läuft nichts, wieder mal alles falsch gelaufen? Dann ist es mal wieder Zeit zu wichsen. Den nur ein gut gewichster Tag ist auch ein schöner.
Habe meine Wanderschuhe aus dem Verschlag geholt und angefangen zu wichsen. Du wirst dich sicher fragen, warum @siphon jetzt so blöde Posts macht, zu recht! Manchmal bin ich einfach blöd, aber ich habe gelernt damit umzugehen. Die Dummheiten müssen raus, sonst blockieren sie die guten Ideen, so meine einfache Philosophie.

Sometimes I'm just stupid, but I've learned to deal with it. The stupidities have to come out, otherwise they block the good ideas, that's my simple philosophy.
Ich hab ein (relativ) billiges Lederfett für Reitbedarf genutzt, einfach so, es steht nämlich schon lange bei mir rum, ist viel drin und wird nicht weniger. Eigentlich nutze ich Bienenwachs, aber jetzt kuck ich halt mal.
Mein Freund ist aus Leder, innen wie außen! Weil ich Naturprodukte mag und es ist wahrscheinlich nur 1/10 Rind oder weniger gestorben...
Der Schuh ist schon 6 Jahre alt und wurde schon einmal wieder-besohlt, 3 Monate nach dem Kauf, aber das ist eine andere Geschichte. Ansonsten sieht der Schuh noch top aus und läuft sich wie auf Wolken.
Ich pflege sie gern, es hat eine beruhigende Wirkung und das Ergebnis macht mich zielsicher glücklich. Es ist immer gut etwas zu haben das man jederzeit gelingend abschließen kann wenn man mal wieder ein Erfolgserlebnis braucht :)))
Die kleinen Dinge machen manchmal genauso glücklich wie dir großen.
I've been using a (relatively) cheap leather grease for riding supplies, just like that, because it's been standing around for a long time, has a lot in it and isn't reducing. I usually use beeswax, but now I'll just have a look.
My friend is made of leather, inside and out! Because I like natural products and probably only 1/10 of a cow died or less...
The shoe is already 6 years old and has already been re-soled once, 3 months after purchase, but that is another story. Otherwise, the shoe still looks great and walks like on clouds.
I like to nurture it, it has a calming effect and the result makes me unerringly happy. It's always good to have something that you can successfully complete whenever you need a sense of achievement :)))

One of my first real connections years ago on Steem was an actor who went by the handle HerrLeeb. He was passionate about shoe care, and had a website devoted to shoe care that he used to run.

I just checked and his site seems to have issues now. I looked him up eventually on IMDB and was happy to see he was doing ok and still acting. He was one to speak out against government overreach which isn't healthy for an actor, so I always assumed that was why he stopped blogging.
It's amazing how often we can overlook something as trivial but is very important like a good shoe/boot value. A real necessity, yet so many collect them as accessories.
Great to see you caring for yours, a reminder for me as well of the other man I mentioned who also believed in caring and repairing shoes.
In the long term, there will probably be more and more of us who value the care and preservation of used things.
