Update Uganda

Every Friday there is a market on the shore of the lake. There you can buy fruits and vegetables, but also clothes and other things.
Perhaps you remember the year 2020, when the market was closed for 6 months because of the Covid lockdown. Many people there were starving and had great problems to provide for themselves.
We put a lot of effort into providing food for a few hundred people at that time.
The prices shot up and everyone was happy when this bad time was over and everything returned to normal.
No sooner had the hope of improvement grown than the Ukraine war came and with it the energy crisis.
Once again, the people there were hit hard, because prices rose again.

Here are a few pictures from the market.
I have the impression that it is much smaller,
than 5 years ago, when we visited it last time.

Some of you will remember that we bought Joan (that's Bosco's wife) a sewing machine last year.
The idea was to help people help themselves.
Joan was pregnant at the time and unfortunately there were many health problems so she could not work during that time.
Little Jill Matha was then born healthy and Joan is also doing well.
Now she can finally use her sewing machine and also offers her services on market days.

This local market looks almost exactly like the one in my country here. That's good helping to be dependent other's rather than depending on other
