Dcity gaming part 2 | Student Debt | Elections affecting taxes

in dcity •  2 years ago

Hi all, as I shared some info about my city before, this is the next part of that. You can read the previous post at the link below

Before I start here is a recent image of my city.

Changes from the last post

As we can see the last time we have less income and we have more, but with more cards and negative income

So, why negative income?

This is an interesting mechanism added to control inflation and is directly related to the price of the SIM token.

If the SIM token is priced high in the market, Taxes in DCity will be low whereas when SIM prices fall, Taxes in DCity will be increased, sometimes resulting in negative income.

But this does not affect us much, as the actual income we get is a tax rebate, because of high taxes like Basic Tax, Luxury tax, and more, that are there to control inflation.

Also, my daily hive earnings yesterday reached 0.008 than the previous 0.005 and 0.004 and is related to the income ranking of DCity

Logics

So, back to our DCity logic.

Education And Creativity

I have bought some more cards like student and professor, to add to the education stats. And workers to increase the working population to enable my card back again.

Oh yes, one important fact. You can buy as many cards as you want, but there is no use if you don't have any population to work in those buildings.
This is also why I do have some inactive cards, as I am trying to increase the population as well.

I have been able to keep 80+ education to have technology discovery with a 1% chance. Technology discovery helps unlock technologies, that increase the bonus to existing cards.

after each 80 education points, you can get a 1% increase in technology delivery.

I am still trying to keep 80+ creativity to have an animation discovery chance as well.

Bonus tip

Education/creativity both add to increasing population, so doesn't matter what stat you choose to increase, it will have a chance of increasing population.

War Tax

With buildings like Barracks and citizens like soldiers, we do get war shares, which is another kind of income but might affect the popularity of the city.

Popularity has a bonus effect on the population, and negative popularity reduces the population, whereas positive popularity increases the population.

Some people use War as a strategy to have their income by keeping the crime rate low, but the popularity also stays low.

I am still researching how War Tax affects the game. For now, I can only say, the cards also give you a Tax rebate, so this is one thing you get.

For most of the logic, getting a Tax rebate is one of the key factors when deciding on a strategy.

Student Debts

I want to keep this for next time, but let's continue. As we know for each type of citizen we need a card, and some can be available low but rare cards can be higher. So having a student (Debt) card (having a negative income with 1 tax rebate) gives you chance to unlock a better citizen.

As you see, I paid debts and unlocked cards like Policeman, Eco Activist, and economist. It is actually a gamble you do to get better cards with less cost. But beware of the debt, if you have multiple student(debt) cards, you have to pay a lot of debt as that is not cheap always.

Dcity Elections

One of the ways, how taxes and rewards are decided is by the President who is elected by the DCity players.

The president can decide on some factors.

Here you see registered candidates with their government and voting results. Here we have @ecoinstant as the president for a long time.

And here are the factors decided by the president that affects the card and citizen-related factors.

Lobby and Ranking rewards

These are the most important tabs one player should use.

Here you can decide and give your opinion on ranking-based rewards. This is how the DCity community decides the basis on how the community should be rewarded.

With Lobby, you can vote on how the shares are distributed or more tax reduction happens.

I hope I have shared a lot, I still have to share more as I am also learning. I am sharing these to help my friends, who want to start playing DCity.

I will be sharing about Beer and Weed, as I need to know before how they work. But, I would say, if anyone want to start, there is no specific time, you just need to start now.

I recently read a nice post, you also should check that
