Good morning, dear friends, and welcome to another beautiful new week.
King Nebuchadnezzar's dream was interpreted by Daniel as a vision of an unstable empire symbolized by toes composed of clay and iron, a peculiar combination of connection and division, strength and frailty. We live in a conflict-ridden, globally interconnected culture today. How do we get over the division that permeates our world? Will the right candidate assist us in resolving our problems? Will the appropriate laws bring us all together in justice and peace at last?
No help would come from a single party or country, according to Daniel. Rather, assistance will descend from heaven above. Seeing the state of the world, our almighty God cut a stone from His holy mountain. The Chief Cornerstone, Jesus Christ, is the stone that the builders rejected (1 Peter 2:6). The woman mentioned by God in Genesis was the source of that Cornerstone. In the desert, he served as the life water's source. David referred to Him as a sturdy tower, a rock of shelter, and an ever-present aid in difficult times. The same stone will develop into a massive mountain that engulfs the entire planet and overthrows all preceding empires. His will be an unbreakable empire that endures forever.
"Sing to the LORD a new song—His praise in the assembly of the godly. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. Let them praise His name with dancing, and make music to Him with tambourine and harp. For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the afflicted with salvation." - Psalm 149:1-4"
