Good morning, dear friends, and welcome to another beautiful day.

Money can easily become a source of diversion. It requires work and concentration to even make and handle money. In fact, if money is not restrained, it can become a cunning master. Our passions tend to follow our thoughts. We are distracted if our thoughts revolve around increasing our income much of the time we are awake. Indeed, we must perform our work to the highest standard for the Lord. But if pursuing financial success takes up all of our attention, then it becomes a rival to God. Every morning, billions of people strive to earn money, but do they actually produce money, or does money make them? There won't be much left over for a life well spent if money rules my existence.

Following compulsive money earning, one's time and energy for others become limited.

Sure, having money gives you alternatives, but only those that fall within the boundaries of what God has intended. Unrestricted leisure and self-indulgence constitute a life unfit for the Lord. An abundance of choices could be distracting. Where is the equilibrium, then? How can you prevent the distraction of money?

Keep your distance from material possessions and allow Christ to love you. He will draw you from the seduction of money and lead you into heavenly investments. When you allow Him to love you, you will want to return the favor.

The diversion caused by money can, thankfully, be overcome. Give yourself to God, and you will be forced to return the favor. A loving relationship with Jesus pulls money out of its diversionary path. You cannot be distracted by money when you love Him with all of your heart. Give then abundantly to those He loves, the impoverished in particular. Givers who are generous love God, not money.

"Sing to the LORD a new song—His praise in the assembly of the godly. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. Let them praise His name with dancing, and make music to Him with tambourine and harp. For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the afflicted with salvation." - Psalm 149:1-4"

Wishing you a lovely day
