We never really know where we are going in life, which is rather common. Additionally, we hardly ever end up where we intended to be when we begin out without a defined path or trajectory! True intentionality and vision clarity are essential to a life of discipleship, particularly for Christians. It is impossible for you and me to make mistakes on the path to holiness or to become fully formed followers. Intentional and deliberate pursuit of God is still necessary, even if we are always guided and enabled by his grace.
It's possible that your life is overflowing with obligations and diversions, impairing your judgment and obstructing your vision to the point that it becomes increasingly difficult to see a faithful path ahead. Fight the impulse to add something—even something good and godly—to an already overly busy life in a hurry! Rather, pause and reevaluate your priorities and time management techniques.
Living according to the principles of the Lord's Kingdom is what it means to commit yourself to him. Aligning your time, skills, and assets completely with his intentions and goals is the goal. Furthermore, trusting the Lord with our way is an act of commitment, as the Psalmist tells us. We think he will show up to meet us and lead us into a rich and fulfilling life spent with him. With all your heart, mind, and power, pursue God because you have faith that a life with him is the best thing you could possibly give yourself!
