Good morning, dear friends, and welcome to another beautiful new week.
How many of us wear a grin on Sundays but spend the rest of the week clinging to our faith like tacks? We act the part on the front, but on the inside, our faith dwindles.
We have eventually succumbed to the enemy's delusion that if we can't get it perfect, it would be best to give up and quit embarrassing the Lord and ourselves. This idea that we have to be flawless has the unintended consequence of making many people give up on their faith, lose hope, or pretend to be good in church while leading quiet lives every other day of the week.
We occasionally lose sight of the fact that we have a committed, long-term relationship with Jesus. This place is secure. Grace provides us with space to breathe, enabling us to get back up and try again when we stumble. We are not flawless. We are the ones who understand our need for a Savior the best. The good news is that He just wants all of our hearts; perfection is not something He demands or expects. Continue to move forward in faith even in the face of failure. For His own reasons, Jesus has taken hold of us and won't let go.
"Sing to the LORD a new song—His praise in the assembly of the godly. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. Let them praise His name with dancing, and make music to Him with tambourine and harp. For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the afflicted with salvation." - Psalm 149:1-4"
