Resting from work can be difficult for certain individuals. They may even idolize their work since they adore, enjoy, and take pleasure in it. To work hard, intelligent, and productively is good; to idolize work is not so good. It is rash and ends in disaster. Relationship, bodily, or even financial catastrophe could be the result. Work that is revered easily spirals out of control. Only God is deserving of worship. While it's admirable to have unwavering drive that results in excellent work, avoid making work its own goal. Christ, not employment, is the source of your genuine identity.

It is possible to be mentally engaged in work even when you are physically not there, therefore stop engaging in this split-focused thinking. Don't let your body's freedom from labor make your mind envious. When you return to your task after giving your mind a break, you'll find that your thinking has become more creative and robust. Turn your focus to God's larger ideas and His purpose. Put your basic trust in Him above the intricate problems that are threatening your sleep.

Your Sabbath rest includes resting your body, mind, and emotions. People's reengagement with God may be sparked by your Sabbath relaxation. Lead by example and see who else follows. Others are free to relax on their Sabbaths with you. Although getting to God's rest isn't always simple, the journey is well worth it once you get there. Your obedience and faith are sparked by His rest. Thus, take a break from your job and rest in Him. Then see how the Spirit sustains your task, making it better and more productive.
