The Stopwatch is in God’s Grasp

The stopwatch is in God's grasp. Before sin ever entered the picture on the first morning of creation, God knew the exact day, time, and moment that Christ would return to gather His church. Before His return, naysayers will have lots to say, Peter cautioned. This Jesus, where is he? What became of His declared reappearance? Everything has been the same from the beginning of time to the present (2 Peter 3:4).

The God who spoke and created galaxies is unknown to those scorners. He gave the stars names and hung the moon. He made the dry land emerge out of the waters and the oceans teeming with life. He made the cattle graze and caused the grass to sprout from the ground. His speech was well-received. His Word is still reliable today. He fulfills His promises on time. In fact, His restraint—holding off on the end to allow everyone to turn to God in repentance—has resulted from His loving compassion. He wishes for no one to be lost permanently.

Like a robber in the night, He will honor His word at the appropriate hour. The trumpet will sound and the sky to the east will divide. Are you prepared?
