Good morning, dear friends, and welcome to another beautiful new week.
You could know Jesus for the rest of your life without ever having your heart changed. This past week, I was thinking of a man I know who is in his 70s and has lived his whole life in the pews of a magnificent church, regularly attending services with his family. Nevertheless, when he reflected on his life, he saw that Christ had not served as the cornerstone. It served just as a societal standard and a means of providing his children with some "moral direction." He recently expressed his grief by saying, "It's time to get serious about faith." He's prepared to go from "reports about Jesus" to a personal conversation. Can you do the same?
Consider the instances in which you remained concealed among the throng and watched Jesus from afar today. Since we reveal our weaknesses and anxieties when we separate from the crowd and get close to Jesus, there is a sense of safety in anonymity. In Mark 5, the lady exposes her anguish and grief to the world by touching Christ's clothing. It is just where Christ wants her to be since this is the place of transformation, and she is completely at his mercy. Undoubtedly, being in a crowd may seem "safe," but when we get near enough to touch the hem of our Lord's robe, He renews, heals, and restores us.
"Sing to the LORD a new song—His praise in the assembly of the godly. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. Let them praise His name with dancing, and make music to Him with tambourine and harp. For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the afflicted with salvation." - Psalm 149:1-4"
