Do I really depend on God every day, and what does it mean to rely on him? It is reliance on Christ, but because it comes from our soul and spirit, it might be difficult to discern at times. When illness weakens the body, it seems simpler to rely on the Lord than when my attitude is fueled by rage. Being dependent on God implies that we recognize our need for Him and that we are powerless to achieve anything significant for the Kingdom on our own.

The path to a life of faithfulness and fruitfulness is dependence on Jesus. It implies that we are changed by the thoughts and words of the Lord, so we can rely on Him for discernment and knowledge. Maybe He will help you reduce debt, spend less, save more, and give more during the course of the upcoming year. Yes, we may rely on Him to bear the fruit of thrift and charity. Your resolve is strengthened when you rely on the Lord.

Furthermore, you sense that other people are counting on you, which is another reason why you rely on the Lord. Without the sustaining power of your Savior, you can easily crumble under the weight of other people's expectations. He gives you energy for sustainability, just as a branch gets sustenance from the vine. The ongoing relationship with Christ that produces holiness is called dependence.

Humility blossoms in its stead as pride is burned away. One's faith blossoms while their fear is banished. Forgiveness blossoms in its stead as anger is banished. Love blossoms in its stead as lust is banished. We are helpless and aloof without God, which is why we rely on Him. In trying circumstances, Jesus is our source of hope and strength.

Recognizing the All-Powerful God as the proprietor and mastermind of all situations is the first step toward being dependent. God is able to accomplish anything and is not limited by anything. The rest is up to Him; your role is to trust and follow. Him operating in and through you is what makes you dependable.
