Overcoming Criticism and Embracing Positivity in Daily Life

It's usually simpler to point out flaws than to acknowledge and applaud accomplishments. This holds true in the fields of politics, family, and employment. Our society is so cynical that we are constantly conditioned to view the world in this way. Without us even realizing it, a critical remark here or a scathing word there starts to become second nature and eat away at our very essence. At the same time, you are encouraged to call out what is true, beautiful, and good in our world by making daily decisions to see the positive, which work against this cynical mindset.

A large portion of the dysfunction in families and relationships that I have witnessed in my life stems from a lack of gratitude and an inability to accept and tolerate negative things in life. We talk negatively about the inadequacies and dysfunctions of the people we love, rather than praying for them and seeking their well-being. This is usually the result of our own insecurities and concerns. Even while our critical remarks can be emotionally healing at the time, they are harmful to all everyone.

Staying silent during a disagreement is frequently an indication that the Spirit is at work in your life. Maybe instead of jumping to judge others for their shortcomings, we would silently ask the Lord to examine us and reveal anything that is filthy inside.

Even though it could seem overwhelming, the Lord can shape and bend our entire existence to reflect his Son via little acts of fidelity. This week, practice paying attention to your feelings of wrath, jealously, or criticism. Grasp these feelings and place them at the foot of the cross, trusting that the Lord has the power to set you free from these habits and make you an amazing source of blessing and encouragement to others!
