When abuse is evident, it is preferable to address the person rather than overlook and encourage inappropriate behavior. Sure, offer prayers for your loved one or friend who abuses alcohol, but don't be afraid to step in and demand that they get the assistance they need. Put money on their recuperation rather than their desires.

The solution to all additions is ultimately Jesus Christ. He is forgiving of shattered faith. He gives heartache its healing. A troubled soul finds comfort in him.
