There are those in our immediate vicinity who have more needs than we can handle, including sick kids, elderly parents, jobless friends, prodigal teens, and acquaintances who are struggling financially. Their demands around them like a noose, poised to suffocate happiness and tranquility. We might take no action at all if we are not purposeful in assisting people. Feeling that we are not able to help everyone makes us withhold things. As a result, no one is left with responsibility for anyone.

Indeed, it is preferable to give to one person what we would like to give to everyone. The wise woman saved and revived a starfish as she strolled along the shoreline, picking up one that had become marooned and throwing it to the water. She trusted kindhearted people to save one life at a time. As a result, we raise a baby who might grow up to be a mayor, missionary, or doctor. One unhappy adolescent that we educate discovers forgiveness in a caring connection with Jesus. Hospitality is considerate.

Warmth and love can be found in a tiny, utilitarian room that is basic and welcoming. Allow your visitor to choose the timetable that works best for them, but remain a silent encouragement. Of course, they are free to converse, but please use caution and good judgment. Relative to doing nothing for the plethora of people in need, the ability to make a single individual feel accepted and at home is priceless. Even introverts are encouraged to open their homes as havens for their Savior by your example of hospitality.

Finally, seek lodging among the people of the Lord. It is preferable to be around caring individuals rather than alone yourself at a motel where sin's seduction is relentless. When you release a friend to show kindness in your honor, you save money, bless others, and preserve your witness. By accepting their request to stay with them, you are allowing others to experience blessings because it is more fortunate to give than to receive. Christians look out for one another. The loving hand of heaven is hospitality!
