Good morning, dear friends, and welcome to another beautiful new week.

Jesus cautioned His disciples to remain vigilant because there would be a lot of deception in this world. At the end of times, there will be so much mass deception that people won't be able to distinguish between the truth and lies—rumors, transgressions, betrayals, and lies. The father of lies, Satan, has so thoroughly ingrained himself into our culture that he now influences both the sources of our information and the reasons behind our choices. In an effort to tell stories that fit its own narrative, the media has abandoned impartiality.

Deception has seeped into government and education, where it is used to mislead and distort. Things that used to seem so obvious have been abandoned. Pastors, even in our congregations, are more concerned with comfort than with the Holy Spirit's conviction.

Jesus proclaimed the veracity of God's Word. Still, it is God's truth that frees the addict and brings the sinner from the distant land. God's truth is what sets people free from slavery, restores what the enemy sought to destroy in the past, and offers hope for a better future. It is this fact that provides joy to the forlorn, strength to the tired, water to the thirsty. His truth endures despite the denials of the agnostic, rejection by the world, and hatred of the atheist.
