Good morning, dear friends, and welcome to another beautiful day.

But getting too little sleep is dangerous not just for the general public's health but also for our spiritual well-being!

Prioritizing sleep is a deliberate decision to rely on God for our power and nourishment. As followers of Jesus, we have made the decision to adhere to the work-rest schedules that he so exemplarily set for us. We are also making the conscious decision to close our eyes and surrender our bodies and souls to the tender care of our Lord in a world where there is never enough stimulation and distraction, thanks to our endless social media feeds and access to a vast array of streaming content.

Physical necessities like food and sleep are sometimes written off as unholy or unrelated to our spiritual well-being. It is our assumption that the spiritual life is the nonphysical life. It's the world of our aspirations, prayers, and thoughts, not the world of our physical demands, routines, or behaviors. We have to reject this false dichotomy!

The road of becoming a Christian involves adopting Christ's life as our own, and this adherence to his teachings extends to even the supposedly routine aspects of our everyday existence. As a matter of fact, I firmly believe that genuine spiritual development occurs in the everyday, not the remarkable.

Offer up your daily life in prayer and obedient devotion to the Lord. Acquire the skill of hearing the Lord's voice amidst the hectic routines of job, education, and family life. And at the conclusion of each day, intentionally give yourself up to the Lord, and rest in peace, knowing that He is your provider and guardian. This is the path of wisdom; via these seemingly insignificant behaviors, God brings about real, long-lasting spiritual development.

"Sing to the LORD a new song—His praise in the assembly of the godly. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. Let them praise His name with dancing, and make music to Him with tambourine and harp. For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the afflicted with salvation." - Psalm 149:1-4"

Wishing you a lovely day
