The Misuse of Religion for Personal Gain

Regretfully, some people use religion as a means of gaining favor. It's possible that they are adult singles who prey on gullible single adults at church. They go to church in order to exploit vulnerable souls. Some businesspeople pretend to have biblically based ideals and principles by mastering the art of Christian communication. Nevertheless, their deceitful and self-serving tactics expose their true selves after they seal the deal or make the sale.

Spiritual dishonesty—using God to further our own agendas—is among the worst kinds of deception. When it comes to controlling their spouse, a husband may utilize submission to do so, or a wife may choose to withhold from her husband through grace. Tell people who attempt to purchase the Holy Spirit for their own gain, as Simon did in the early church, to beware. Through prayer, worship, and fellowship, cultivate a genuine spirituality in your heart and mind.

Contrarily, the Spirit of Christ is the driving force behind and authority over true spirituality. God Almighty is the initiator, hence authenticity exists. Sincerity and care for the welfare of others are hallmarks of true spirituality, not merely self-interest. Knowing they look out for you makes you feel at ease with them. Their commercial and spiritual endeavors are the source of their integrity.

Love for others above self-interest and compassion for the weak and destitute are signs that your faith is authentic. Loving God and following His instructions is the result of authentic spirituality.
