Today I read in the news that Uttar Pradesh state of India Women's commission has given a proposal that a man should not be allowed to stitch ladies' clothes or cut hair or even be a gym instructor. And this is keeping insight the bad touch of a man on a woman. First, we need to understand that not every man is a molester or a rapist, and it cannot be generalized in these professions. And by doing this neither are the rapes and molestation going to stop.
Man, who has bad intentions will do it anyways and not wait to be a part of these professions to do these kinds of dirty things. I do not think this makes any sense. Such kind of measures are only going to take us backwards and not only that, it is going to impact livelihood of so many men. It's not even fair to generalize. Having a woman security is important and understandable but these things of banning them from professions is quite a absurd suggestion.
My hairdresser is a man, tailor also a man and all of these people are respectful. I have never seen them taking any advantage or felt uncomfortable. They are just doing their work, and majority of them are clean and safe. They are simple ordinary people doing their jobs. By even putting such suggestions they would be outraged. There may be one of a person like that in such professions but then that can be in any profession and not only these.
If a woman feels unsafe then they should themselves not go to such people and places. Also there are CCTV cameras in all these job places which are monitored. These kind of proposals by any chance if they get accepted, it means so many man going out of job, because in India majority of the tailors and gym instructors are man.
