Like throwing an arrow, running a spear is also a kind of legal game. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) allowed the Abyssinians to play the game of spear-throwing in mosques. And he allowed his wife Hazrat Ayesha (RA) to see it from inside the house. He used to say to encourage them: O children of Arfada, strike, strike hard, you have your opponent.
Hazrat Umar (ra) was a man of strict temperament so he did not like this game. He wanted to forbid them but the Prophet (peace be upon him) restrained him. Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) has narrated: The Abyssinians were playing with spears in front of the Holy Prophet (SAW). At that time Hazrat Umar appeared.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) showed great generosity and tolerance by allowing the game to be played in his holy mosques. As a result, both the religion and the world came together in the mosque. When Muslims play, when they joke, they think that it is not just a game. As much as it is a means of recreation, it is also a form of physical exercise! In the light of this hadith, the experts have given the opinion that the mosque is the center of all the work of the Muslim society. Therefore, it is undoubtedly permissible to do that which is in the interest of the religion and its people.
In this context, the Muslims of this period should consider how their mosques were made a source of life and energy at that time. And now it has been made the center of laziness of the idlers. There is no vibration of life in it, nor is there any way to gain energy from it. In addition, the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is also found in the process of maintaining relations with women and making them happy. The Prophet's wife Ayesha (ra) said.
I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) covering me with his shroud. And I saw the Abyssinians playing in the mosque. I got tired of watching. So you can engage young girls who are passionate about sports. (Bukhari, Muslim)
He added: I used to play with the girls in his house in front of Rasulullah Kareem. I had some girlfriends, they played with me. As soon as the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to the house, they hid themselves. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to joke with them about me. As a result, they had the courage to play with me.
