The work that usually attracts the human mind and gives satisfaction and peace to the heart and rains honey in the ears is the song or music. The view of Islam is that there is nothing wrong with using musical instruments if there is no combination of shamelessness, ugly-obscene language or incitement to sin.
All these things are not only permissible but also desirable to express happiness and contentment in the case of Ananda Utsav. Such as Eid, marriage, return of lost relatives and Walima's Akika ceremony and childbirth can all be used without hesitation.
Hazrat Ayesha (RA) said that a girl was getting married to a man of Ansar dynasty. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: O Ayesha! There is no system of pleasure with them? Because the Ansar like these very much.
Hazrat Ayesha (RA) married one of her close daughters to a son of Ansar dynasty. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) came and asked, "Did you send Dulhin?" People said, yes. Said: Did you send a singer girl with him? The people said: Yes, no. Then he said: The people of the Ansar dynasty like music very much. That is why it would have been better if you had sent a girl with the bride to sing: We have come to you, we have come to your house, may Allah save us and you too.
Hazrat Ayesha (RA) said: Two daughters were singing and playing musical instruments on the day of Eid-ul-Azha. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) lay down with his clothes on. At that time Abu Bakr came there. Seeing this, he threatened the two girls. Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) took off his clothes and said: O Abu Bakr, let them do it. Now is the time for Eid festival.
Imam Ghazali in his book 'Ihya-ul-Uloom' has mentioned many hadiths regarding the singing of two daughters. He also mentioned the play of the Abyssinians in the mosque and their encouragement by the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked Aa'ishah at that time: Do you want to watch this game? After that he clung to him and showed him and all these hadiths of his have been quoted in Bukhari and Muslim. It proves conclusively that music and play are not completely haram. There is also evidence that the Shari'ah is adamant in this regard.
