I must admit I was a bit pissed off about getting spanked on my Blurt investment. As cryptos go it wasn't a vast loss, but I bought and earned more than 100k of Blurt tokens and watched them drop in value from over US$3k down to about US$500.
Eventually I gave up on holding any funds in Blurt and sold all but 100 of them, putting the funds into a crypto called Ravencoin (RVN - Rank #151) which is currently pretty low and looks like it might have some potential to go up. I have no real personal interest in it, which I think is probably a good thing with crypto investments. But so far I haven't made any gains

Revisiting my Blurt wallet yesterday I found it had gone up from about 25 cents to about $6 from payouts on my blog posts. And that is where the psychology kicks in. $5.75 is not of great importance to me, but it brings home just how jilted I was about being banned from earning any payouts on Hive, and that just earning a few cents on Blurt warms me to the platform and makes me feel appreciated.
There is no other platform where I could earn $5.75 for spouting off my bullshit. Thanks Blurt! From this point on I will leave any earnings in Blurt, powering all but 100 of them up - I no longer think of it as a crypto investment but just as an effective local economy and a means to stop the spam that plagues other platforms.
